West leads the ª 7; a lucky lead for you. Declarer assesses where his tricks are coming from. He has two spade tricks, one diamond and two clubs and his most likely source of another four tricks is the heart suit if West has the King. South wins with the Jack of Spades and must be careful how he tackles the heart suit. To cater for West holding the King of hearts to four, declarer should lead the nine from hand. When this is successful he then plays the Jack. If declarer plays the Jack from hand initially he can make only three heart tricks. If West ducks the Jack of hearts he must come to a heart trick.
